Nail Trends From NYFW

When watching runway shows, more than ever beauty trends are part of the excitement on the ramp. Nails and nail art made heads turn at shows. Here are our favourite nail art trends from NYFW.

Nice Nudes

Butter London's collection of nude nails created by Katie Hughes, Colour Ambassador for Butter London, were understated, but beautiful, telling us that an understated manicure isn't looked down upon and can complement the brightest and boldest clothing. At Altuzurra to balance the design's mix of bold textures, Hughes created a mannequin manicure, while at Brood nails were made to look "natural but a little awkward" to contrast the bright floral patterns.

Fairy Dusted

At Behnaz Sarafpour a light-hearted sparkly glitter fade on top of a neutral nude pink base was created that complemented a nymph inspired collection. Magical and glistening.

Oyster Shell Mani

At Binetti CND created a show-stopper manicure with a triple tiered sculpted manicure that revealed a glamorous pearl between each layer. Colours used were Tropic Coral, Flamingo Feather and Jet Black. Great for a funky look for Halloween or a night on the town.

Vamped Up Digits

This fall like the vampy lip, deep maroon nails are also a covetable trend. Essie created this shiny dark mani at Marchesa with a coat of Ballet Slippers topped off with Luxudeo for a purple maroonish tint. Easy to achieve for anyone and great for all seasons.

Metallics V's

Get a little creative with your nails with some metallic nail art. At Veronica Beard Essie created this sleek look of inverted metallic V's with beautiful shades of polish to complement the copper metallic. Begin with a coat of Penny Talks all over the nail, then top off with a coat of a light green or deep marroon in a V-shaped form. Start in the centre of the cuticle to the edge of the nail and continue on the other side. Your nails will draw extra attention and look luxe.
