A bill introduced by the province last week will make it mandatory for home builders to guarantee their product.

Bill 5 proposes labour and materials be covered for one year, five years for the exterior and 10 years for major structural components.

But there are some homes in Calgary that would make one wonder how much they would cost to guarantee.

As the heart of Canada's energy industry, a certain part of the Calgary populace has access to near-Sheik levels of wealth.

And with great wealth comes great price stickers for opulent real estate.

For the last 10 years, the Calgary real estate market has constantly been in the top three hottest real estate markets in Canada and has often fallen victim to critics who say the average and median price of homes in the city is often out of reach for many people who make the city their home.
