Vancouver police have laid charges against a man in connection with Monday's standoff at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel.
Surrey resident Ranjit Singh Sandhu, 27, has been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, the police said in a news release.
Monday's standoff saw a man enter the Fairmont Pacific Rim with a gun, starting a 10-hour standoff.
The area was locked down while police negotiators defused the situation. No shots were fired and no one was hurt.
Sandu also faces multiple charges from an unrelated incident last month after he allegedly drove a pickup truck through the front entrance of the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster.
