Now what, if anything, would you start listing if someone asked you why you were not an average woman?

Today on Twitter, #ReasonsIFailAtBeingAGirl exploded as a trending topic when females of all ages took it on, assumedly in an attempt to demonstrate how they differ from what they consider to be the stereotypical things that, well, make a "girl" a "girl."

Touching on everything from weight ("If I'm hungry, I'm gonna eat") to farting ("in front of anyone"), the tweets are hilarious, heartening, and also quite revealing — after all, if these are the qualities women feel the need to differentiate themselves from, there's obviously still something to them.

It is easy, however, to see how the online world lends itself to breaking down these walls, as with Stella Boonshoft's blog last week describing her decision to post a picture of her bigger-than-size-2 body in a bikini online, or mothers taking ownership of what they really look like after giving birth.
