The large letters spelling out the stadium's name were being installed Tuesday inside the new Allesee Gallery of Culture at the Detroit Historical Museum, which is undergoing renovation.
Tiger Stadium opened in 1912 as Navin Field. The Tigers left for Comerica Park after the 1999 season. The last portion of city-owned Tiger Stadium was demolished in 2009.
The Detroit Historical Society earlier obtained the lettering along with other artifacts from the stadium for preservation following a request from the City of Detroit.
The Detroit Historical Museum is scheduled to reopen Nov. 23.
