Central Yukon shaken by 4.1 magnitude earthquake

An earthquake hit central Yukon this morning.

The quake struck just after 6:30 a.m., about 160 kilometres north of Keno, where there's a silver and lead mine.

Natural Resources Canada says the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 4.1.

Alexco Resources, which runs the silver and lead mine, said they have not had any problems at the mine this morning due to the quake.

There are no reports of the quake having been felt.
