TORONTO - Designer Ilan Elfassy infused his spring-summer collection for outerwear line Soia & Kyo with a palette of vivid colours and subtle accents in a presentation at World MasterCard Fashion Week on Thursday.
With models sporting elaborate headwraps and multiple layers of apparel, the colourfully patterned ensembles could have easily been a distraction. But with a rich range of hues encompassing burgundy, cobalt and violet among softer earth tones and pastels, the slick outerwear offerings from the Montreal-based label still remained standouts.
Battered leather and suede were among the fabrics incorporated in the collection of slim-fit jackets and windbreakers, featuring refined touches like exposed zipper accents, leather buckles on trenches and contrast sleeves on polished leather jackets.
