The Vancouver-born, Los Angeles-bred label crisscrossed the globe to the Cote d'Azur, paying homage to a "night to remember in St. Tropez" as inspiration for their spring-summer 2013 collection.
There was an overt sexiness in the presentation with bare-chested, barefooted male models and some of the female catwalkers wearing loops of nautical rope as bustiers. Many of the denim offerings were equally eye-catching.
The silhouette was decidedly slimmer and more form-fitting in the women's looks, with the label's popular high-waisted skinny making a return for the warmer months. Colourful tie-dye variations in pink, pale blue and charcoal, with shimmering rose gold metallic and gold studs encircling hems, dotting seams and pant fronts, offered a contrast to more faded washes and deep indigo hues.
Italian denim was used for the men's garments, which had a slightly looser silhouette. A twist on classic blues was featured in offerings for both genders with the ombre effect — colour gradation from a darker hue at the waist gradually lightening toward the hem.
The label was founded by sibling trio Mark, Adam and Ania Taubenfligel and was among the finalists in the Mercedes-Benz Start Up program for emerging designers last fall. Before joining her brothers for a runway bow, Ania took her own turn on the catwalk in studded dark denim.
