TORONTO - Montreal-based Travis Taddeo brought a definitive edge to his chic, minimalist looks in his spring-summer collection at World MasterCard Fashion Week on Friday.

With slinky jersey dresses and bodysuits featuring cutouts, high slits and intricate knotting, the revealing creations are certainly not for fashion wallflowers looking to fade into the background. But the Calgary native was consistent with his strong teaming of hard and soft elements in both men's and womenswear offerings, with a palette dominated by black and white with pops of bold blues and muted greys.

Sheer tanks, fitted denim, slick leather jackets and shorts were part of the collection. Taddeo also played with prints with a range of pretty silken separates, including tanks, shorts and tunics.

Taddeo collaborated with the design team at Aldo to create the debut men's footwear collection by a homegrown designer under the Aldo Rise program. White lace-up booties and high-tops were among the shoes showcased by models wearing the designer's creations on the runway.
