EDMONTON - It will be next year before there's a trial for a man accused of shooting four of his fellow armoured car guards at the University of Alberta.

A three-week trial for Travis Baumgartner is set to begin Sept. 9.

The Crown elected earlier this month to go ahead without a preliminary hearing.

Baumgartner was charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder following a robbery in June at an ATM machine on campus.

Three of his co-workers died at the scene; a fourth spent weeks in hospital recovering from head wounds.

Baumgartner was arrested the next day at the U.S. border with $334,000 in a backpack
