No Bleeding Lips: Can This Lip Liner Prevent Lipstick Smudges And Feathering?

Can This Lip Liner Stop Lipstick Bleed? We Put It To The Test
No Bleeding Lips

At some point, we've all purchased something whose results were, er, questionable, and didn't live up to our expectations or deliver the results we were so boldly promised. But no more! For the sake of you and your hard-earned money, The Huffington Post Canada Style team is putting the latest products to the test every week.

Testing Period: One week

Tested By: Sarah Kelsey, Editor, Style

Price: $14.99, Shoppers Drug Mart

What It Is: A lip liner that's said to prevent the bleed of bright-coloured lipstick.

How To: Outline the lips just outside of your natural lip line. Apply lipstick and lip gloss as you normally would.

What We Thought: Wax-based and paraffin free, we have to admit, this is definitely a cool product. With little more than a swipe of this around our natural lip line, we could walk around in this season's brightest and poppiest pout shades without fear of feathering or bleeding (something that's important if you wear lipstick to the office and have to give presentations). Not only that, it's waterproof. The packaging claims the product will prevent lip smears for up to five hours, but we found it lasted a stitch longer (about seven).

The Downfalls: There are none. It works -- really, really well. And it's easy to apply. The only catch is if you don't wear lipstick a lot, it may not be worth buying.

Tips: You can always apply a second coat of this magic lip liner to your pout if you're excessively worried about lipstick bleeding or if you know you're headed out for a big night on the town.

Final Remarks: If you're a lipstick lover, you will become obsessed with this product.
