ANTIGONISH, N.S. - Professors at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, N.S., have voted 80 per cent in favour of strike action.

Union president Peter McInnis says a provincial conciliator could be called in to help with contract talks.

McInnis says university officials appears to be dragging their heels.

He says the union is looking for wage parity with other university staff.

University spokesman Cindy MacKenzie says progress has been made in some areas.
