CALGARY - The Calgary Police Service made a grisly find when, while performing a welfare check on a couple that had been unheard from for days, found the couple dead in their apartment on Wednesday.

Police are awaiting the results of autopsies to help them determine what led to the deaths of a man and a woman.

Officers discovered the bodies while making a check on the welfare of the two at a northeast-area townhouse complex Wednesday afternoon.

The manager told police that the couple, who were in their 30s, hadn't been seen or heard from in days.

Police duty Inspector Paul Stacey says homicide investigators are at the scene.

Stacey also says despite the possibility of a murder-suicide, they're not aware of any domestic violence at the apartment.

The identities of the man and woman have not been released.
