The city's annual litter audit shows big trash dropped almost 10 per cent this year, but the amount of little bits such as cigarette butts continued to rise.
The audit of 123 sites around Edmonton indicated a 9.4-per-cent average reduction in such large items as cigarette packs, paper, cardboard and flyers, to 15.7 pieces from 17.3 pieces in 2011, according to figures released Wednesday.
