Atlantic region to launch travel partnership

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - The Atlantic province's are joining forces to create a new Atlantic Canada Tourism Partnership.

Newfoundland Tourism Minister Terry French issued a statement saying an announcement will be made Monday.

He says the plan will be unveiled in Halifax.

French says the partnership will bring together the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, industry associations and the provincial departments responsible for tourism in each of the four provinces.

The partnership plans to launch major consumer advertising campaigns, travel trade programs and media relations activities.
