An unidentified Richmond Hill, Ont. man might be the unluckiest hit-and-run victim ever.
The unidentified victim, a 30-year-old male was struck by three different vehicles, according to a York Regional Police press release.
The first vehicle, a 2007 silver Mercedes, struck the man at around 3:30 a.m. on Thursday. It is unknown whether the pedestrian survived the first impact. The man was later hit by a second vehicle, a 2007 Honda Fit, and the driver of that vehicle stayed at the scene and called the police.
The victim was hit a third time by the police cruiser responding to the call.
Ontario's Special Investigations Unit, which probes incidents where police injure or may have contributed to the death of civilians, are now involved in the case.
“It was a dark area where he was hit and there were no sidewalks,” York Regional Police Const. Andy Pattenden told the Toronto Star.
According to police, the driver of the first car was arrested on Friday and now faces a number of charges related to the accident.
