Threats shut down Quebec school

Classes at Polyvalente Marcel-Landry in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu were suspended for the day after threats of a shooting were circulated on social media.

Graffiti painted on the school at the end of October made several mentions of today's date — Nov. 5.

More recently, a student at the school received threatening messages on his Facebook account.

Any students who showed up to school today were sent home and the police presence was increased in the surrounding area.

Authorities continue to look for a suspect and say that person could be facing charges of public mischief and intimidation.

Police will maintain their presence over the next few days to insure student safety.
