Vancouver police said Abraham “Abe” Kiewiet, 70, is now facing a total of 22 charges involving 10 victims.
“These victims came to us after learning of this investigation following a public appeal for information in September of this year,” said Sgt. Matt Clarke of the Vancouver Police Sex Crimes Unit in a statement Friday morning.
Kiewiet was arrested again on Nov. 7, without incident, and was charged and released pending his next court appearance on Dec. 4.
He is now charged with:
- Eight counts of indecent assault on a male.
- Three counts of indecent assault on a female.
- Eleven counts of gross indecency.
Investigators said they believe there may be more victims who have not yet come forward and urged them to contact Vancouver police.
“These men and women should be admired for their courage in coming forward after living with these memories of sexual abuse for the past 25 years,” said Clarke.
The alleged victims are now in their 40's and 50's.
