Fire near Metrotown knocks out power

A fire has knocked power out to more than 1,500 homes in Burnaby, BC Hydro says.

The fire occurred just south of the Metrotown Mall. Part of the huge shopping centre is also reported without power.

About 60 firefighters were reported to have been sent to the scene of the fire, which was quickly extinguished.

There is no word on injuries.
