OTTAWA - The Ottawa Carleton District School Board has reached a tentative agreement with its high school teachers to end the teachers' withdrawal of extra services.

The pact was reached early this morning but details will not be released until the membership has voted on the deal.

However, Dan Maxwell, the local president of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation, says it is similar to other agreements reached in Ontario recently.

Maxwell predicts his members will be pleased with the provisions.

The board has six other OSSTF bargaining units to deal with, five of which are still in a legal strike position.

They represent school office and administrative staff, custodial and maintenance workers, educational assistants and other employees. Negotiations with those bargaining units are scheduled to continue this week. (CFRA)
