The 2013 Internation Auto Show Preview

North American International Auto Show In Detroit

Jan. 19 - 27, 2013 at COBO Center. Pace yourself: there will be more than 500 vehicles on display in Detroit this year, including the innovative global submissions for the 12th Annual Michelin Challenge Design competition.

Montreal International Auto Show

Jan. 18 - 27 at the Palais des Congres de Montreal. You can take the kids out to see the cool new supercars, and then drop them off at the free childcare centre sponsored by KIA! While you’re unfettered by the little ones, you can peruse the latest and greatest in auto innovations and even do a good deed, too, while you’re at it: the show features a blood donor clinic on site.

Chicago Auto Show

Feb. 9 - 13, 2013 at McCormick Place. Love auto shows but hate the crowds? You may want to spring an extra $250 to stroll through the exhibition the night before it opens to the public as part of the First Look for Charity fundraiser. If you’re more, er, frugal, and prefer to wait for the public hours, remember to bring three items for the show’s food drive to receive a discounted admission.

Canadian International Auto Show In Toronto

Feb. 15 - 24, 2013, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. 2013 marks the show’s 40th anniversary, so it’s a safe bet there will be plenty of extra fanfare. If February is just too far away, you can always snag a ticket to the 40th Anniversary Charity Gala being held Nov. 16. The fete will feature celebrity guests Dan Aykroyd and Scott Goodyear, as well as a gala auction of a special anniversary edition Camaro ZL1.

Geneva International Motor Show

March 7 - 17, 2013, at the Geneva Palexpo. Expect plenty of cool concept cars to be unveiled at this flashy expo, as well as a solid showcase of the latest in green innovations – including the first hybrid Ferrari!

Auto Shanghai

April 21 - 29, 2013 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. China’s original international auto show is still going strong, and offers a fascinating window into China’s rapidly evolving auto industry. In addition to showcasing Chinese innovations, the show also features international pavilions hosted by German, Italian, Spanish and Turkish automakers.

Tokyo Motor Show

Nov. 22 – Dec. 1, 2013, at Tokyo Big Sight. Like Auto Shanghai, the Tokyo Motor Show takes place every other year. It attracts all of the major Japanese automakers, as well as some big global players. It has a big focus on technical innovations, so you can expect lots of cutting-edge debuts.
