Man suffers life-threatening injuries in overnight crash

A man suffered life-threatening injuries in a single-vehicle crash in the city’s east end on Saturday night.

Toronto police Staff Sgt. Tim Ralph said a vehicle was moving south on Kennedy Road, just south of Lawrence Avenue East, when it attempted to avoid something on the road.

The vehicle then lost control, hit the sidewalk on the west side of the road and stuck a light standard.

Ralph said a 23-year-old man was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
