Man stabbed to death in Surrey apartment

One man is dead and another has been arrested after a stabbing at a Surrey apartment building on Sunday afternoon.

Homicide investigators were called to a suite in an apartment building on 128 Street near 95 Avenue at about 5:45 p.m. PT to find a critically injured man later identified as 35-year-old Jeremy McLellan.

According Sgt, Jennifer Pound, McLellan was rushed to hospital but died of stab wounds less than an hour later.

An unidentified 54-year-old man was arrested at the scene and remains in custody pending charges, she said.

"It is unclear at this time what the motive is for this murder. Investigators will be working throughout the night to find the answers to the questions that arise during the initial stages of a homicide investigation," said Pound on Sunday.
