ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Repairs to the provincial legislature in St. John's, N.L., are now expected to cost $10 million more than the original price tag of $40 million.

Upgrades to the Confederation Building began three years ago, and the second phase of that work continues.

Transportation and Works Minister Paul Davis says it's the only major overhaul to be done on the outside of the building since it opened in 1960.

He says more work was needed than expected, including new windows, brick and roof repairs.
