Hugh Flemming says he is consulting with doctors to determine the future of the Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital.
But Flemming says what may have been a good location for the hospital decades ago may no longer be the case.
The ground floor of the hospital was flooded in March when ice jams forced waters on the St. John River to rise quickly.
Some residents of the community in the northwest of the province have begun to move their homes to higher ground.
Flemming would not say when a decision about the hospital's future would be made.
