Two deaths following street racing accident

Two are dead following an accident involving what police say could be street racing.

A third individual, a twenty-year-old man, is facing criminal charges.

The incident involved two vehicles near Saint-Rémi in Quebec's Montérégie Wednesday afternoon.

Police said one driver lost control and his car bounced off a culvert before slamming into a hydro pole.

A 15-year-old girl was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.

The 19-year-old driver was rushed to a hospital where he died a few hours later.

Quebec Police Sgt. Claude Denis says police arrested the driver of the second car. He is scheduled to appear in Longueuil court today.
