A walk around the Edmonton city hall fountain or a stroll through the Edmonton Valley Zoo are now possible without getting off your seat, thanks to the latest Edmonton offering by Google Street View.
The Internet giant has one-upped itself in Edmonton by providing the curious a view beyond the street, such as the paths along the Muttart Conservatory, the middle of Churchill Square or a fence-side view of Lucy the elephant.

Edmonton Beyond Street View
City hall, the Edmonton Valley Zoo, Churchill Square and the Muttart Conservatory are only the latest in a growing collection of Street View offerings that provide views beyond the street, such as William Hawrelak Park, Louise McKinney Riverfront Park and Henrietta Louise Edwards Park.
Google Street View allows web users to navigate a physical area online, using 360-degree imagery and a command interface.
A Google mapping team captured the images in Edmonton in July 2012, but unlike the now-ubiquitous Google Street View car seen roaming and capturing panoramic vistas around the world, the mappers had to take a different approach to get into those tighter spaces Edmonton is known for.
"Photos were taken using a specially equipped Google motorized tricycle and panoramic camera," the city explained in a statement.
According to the City of Edmonton the latest images were captured this summer but only went live this week.
