Australia Prime Minister Jokes About Mayan End Of The World Prediction

Posted: Updated:

Does Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard know something we don't?

Gillard jokes in a YouTube clip about how the Mayans were right and how the world will actually end on Dec. 21.

The U.S. government has been assuring its citizens that the world actually isn't ending in a few weeks. Russia has done the same but in true Russian fashion has also warned its citizens that winter is still coming.

Canada's government has been strangely silent. What are you hiding from us, Stephen Harper?

Gillard's doomsday pronouncements are tied to a radio show on Triple-J, one of Australia's national radio stations.

"Whether the final blow comes from flesh-eating zombies, demonic hell-beasts, or from the total triumph of K-Pop, if you know one thing about me, it is this — I will always fight for you to the very end," she says in the clip.

Hat tip to CBC.
