NHLPA says league rejects latest CBA proposal

An up-and-down day in NHL labour talks took a negative turn on Thursday, as NHLPA executive director Donald Fehr said the league had rejected the players' latest proposal.

The news came just minutes after Fehr held a press conference announcing the players' association had tabled a new eight-year CBA deal with a six-year opt out, and Fehr had expressed optimism and said he felt the players had 'responded comprehensively' to the issues.

Fehr also said no future talks were immediately planned.

More to come.
