5 Models Who Are Also Food Lovers

We know what you're probably thinking, "Pffft, models don't eat!"

Now hold on there just a minute — this is where we attempt to debunk that prevailing stereotype. Here are five model foodies who not only love to eat, but have penned recipe books, hosted TV cooking shows, and completed serious chef training. How delicious!

Jourdan Dunn

Jourdan's one of the top supermodels in the business today, but did you know her web-based cooking show, Well Dunn with Jourdan Dunn, recently launched on Jay-Z’s Life and Times website? In the very first episode she eats her prepared dish of choice, Jerk Pork with Caribbean Salsa and Rice and Beans, and proclaims, “Yes, I can eat, I DO eat!” The only thing missing is a rousing chorus of, "Nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah..."

Sophie Dahl

Sophie is the author of the successful cookbook, Miss Dahl’s Voluptuous Delights and host of the TV cooking series The Delicious Miss Dahl. The granddaughter of children's book author Roald Dahl, she began her career in the spotlight as a high-fashion model.

Padma Lakshmi

Padma is easily recognized as the first internationally-successful Indian supermodel and host of the wildly-popular competition cooking series Top Chef. As if that weren't enough, she's also published three cookbooks: Tangy, Tart, Hot and Sweet: A World of Recipes for Everyday, Easy Exotic: Low-Fat Recipes from Around the World, and Easy Exotic: One-Dish Wonders from Around the World.

Lorraine Pascale

Spotted by a model scout at 16, Lorraine walked the runway for big design houses such as Chanel and Versace before finding her true passion in baking delectably sweet and savoury dishes. Yummy! Her cookbooks include: Lorraine Pascale's Fast, Fresh and Easy Food, Baking Made Easy, and Home Cooking.

Candice Kumai

Candice discovered her love of cooking while still a model. She left the posing behind and completed her training at Le Cordon Bleu (!), competed on Top Chef (!), and authored two cookbooks (!), Cook Yourself Sexy and Pretty Delicious. Oh, and her website is pretty adorable, too. We're *this* close to holding a big Candice Kumai fan club rally next week...
