2012 is almost at an end, and despite the NHL lockout marring the last few months, that didn't hamper the social presence of Canadian at arenas and stadiums across the country, according to Facebook's Year In Review.

Sports venues in British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec and Alberta all made the list on Facebook's most checked-in destinations. Despite being the lone representative for Quebec, the Centre Bell took the top spot with the most check-ins this year. The entertainment complex played host to a number of performers this year like Justin Bieber, who drew in a crowd of 17,800, last November, Swedish DJ, Avicii back in June and the duo of Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias late in July.

Other destinations popular with Facebook users included Calgary's Scotiabank Saddledome, Vancouver's BC Place and Toronto's Rogers Centre and the Air Canada Centre. Niagara Falls, Canada's most popular tourist destination, also made the list with a fourth place finish.

For the unfamiliar, Facebook's check-in feature allows users to let their friends know where they've been with the touch of an icon. Users can also tag friends who are with them at the time, which then prompts a update on Facebook users' timelines.
