KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Crews have recovered the body of one of two teachers killed when their car plunged into the North Thompson river near Kamloops, B.C., on the weekend.
Skye Buck and his wife Courtney, who was seven months pregnant, taught at schools in the town of Clearwater.
Their car skidded off an icy patch of Highway 5 on Sunday and plunged 30 metres down an embankment into the river about 17 kilometres south of Clearwater.
Police drivers helped pull their car out of the river with Skye Buck's body still inside, but the body of his wife remains missing
The recovery effort has been hampered by snow and cold weather, but Const. Lesley Smith says crews will continue to search for the body of Courtney Buck.
She was a Grade 1 teacher at Raft River elementary in Clearwater, while Skye taught math and coached the basketball team at the community's only secondary school.
