Driver injured in tractor-trailer crash near Drummondville

A 53-year-old truck driver was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after his truck jackknifed on Highway 20 near Drummondville early this morning.

The Sûreté du Québec said the driver was travelling west on the highway just before 2 a.m. when he lost control and went off the road.

Firefighters extricated the man from the truck with hydraulic equipment. He was taken to hospital in Drummondville with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

No one else was hurt in the crash.

Police believe driver fatigue may have been a factor.

The highway was closed for some time as police investigated but has now reopened in both directions.
