CLEARWATER, B.C. - The body of a pregnant Grade 1 teacher has been found several days after a vehicle she was in with her husband plunged 30 metres down an embankment and into a river near Clearwater, B.C.

Courtney Buck's body was discovered Friday, a day after RCMP called off the search for her.

Local search and rescue technicians located her body about 400 metres downstream from where the submerged car was found.

The 30-year-old woman was with her husband Skye Buck last Sunday when their vehicle lost control in bad weather, slid off the Yellowhead Highway and slammed into the icy waters of the North Thompson River.

The body of Skye Buck, who was also a teacher, was found in the vehicle when it was pulled from the river on Monday.

The couple's first child, a son, was due in January. (CFJC)
