ANTIGONISH, N.S. - Antigonish County's municipal clerk and treasurer is stepping down after 30 years on the job.

Alan Bond has submitted his letter of resignation to the county in Nova Scotia.

His last day on the job is Dec. 31.

Council made his resignation public at its monthly meeting last night.

Bond says he thinks it's time for some new blood to come into the position.

Warden Russell Boucher says the county will advertise the position.

He says the county is going through a transition with the retirement of several other senior staff.
