TORONTO -- More than 200 flights at Toronto's Pearson International Airport have been cancelled as a winter storm threatens the U.S. east coast.

Christmas Day flights to and from cities including Boston, Pittsburgh and New York make up the bulk of those scrapped.

Some eastern and northern Ontario flights have also been cancelled, as well as some Maritime routes.

Travellers are advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
