Explosion blamed for Surrey trailer park fire

A suspicious explosion is being blamed for forcing more than a dozen Surrey residents from their homes last night.

Just before 8 p.m. PT, a fire ripped through two trailers in a mobile home park near 126th Street and 112A Avenue. One trailer was destroyed and several other damaged.

Sgt. Dale Carr says the blast is suspicious.

He's hoping for inforrmation about two men seen leaving the area at the time.

"If they know I'm talking about them, I'd like them to come forward to the Surrey RCMP. And if anyone else has information about this incident, to please give us a call," Carr said.

Police say 15 people were forced from their homes.

Investigators confirm a bomb-sniffing dog was called to the scene.
