Langley homicide victim identified

The victim of a New Year's Eve homicide in Langley, B.C., has been identified and a suspect has been charged with second-degree murder.

Cole Adam Manning, 40, of Cloverdale, was found dead in the basement of a house home on 69th Avenue and 198th Street just before 7:30 a.m. PT Monday.

The cause of death has not been released.

“The victim and suspect are believed to be friends, however, IHIT investigators continue to explore the motive for this homicide,” said Sgt. Jennifer Pound with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

“At this point we can say this is not gang-related.”

Terrence Brewer, 24, has been charged with second-degree murder.

Brewer is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.
