UPDATE - Jan. 4, 2013: The B.C. Coroners Service identified Kamloops resident Christopher Scott Hobbs, 25, as the victim.

KAMLOOPS, B.C. - A person has been hit and killed by a train in Kamloops, B.C.

The incident occurred just after 4:30 a.m.

First responders say it appears the victim may have been lying on the tracks of the CP Rail main line when they were hit.

The identity and sex of the victim have not been determined.

Few other details of the incident have been released. (CHNL)
