Teens robbed at knifepoint in Nanaimo

Police are searching for two men who allegedly robbed six others at knife point, making off with cellphones and cash.

The victims, all 17 to 18 years of age, said they were walking along Uplands Drive at approximately 2:15 a.m. PT on January 1 when they noticed two males following them from a distance.

As the group neared the intersection of Uplands Drive and Turner Road, the suspects ran up to them, pulled out short folding knives and demanded their phones and money.

The pair threatened to harm them if they called police before walking back along Uplands Drive towards the North Town Center Mall.

The suspects are described by police as follows:

- A white male in his mid-20s, between six feet one and six feet four inches tall with a slim build, dark hair, and wearing dark clothing.

- A white male in his mid-20s, between five feet ten inches and five feet eleven inches tall with a thin build, red hair, a reddish goatee, a large protruding forehead and wearing a gray hoodie over a black hoodie and dark jeans.
