Saskatchewan Logo Change: Switch From Iconic Wheat Sheaf Called 'Sneaky' (TWEETS)
Get Canada Alberta Alerts:

REGINA - There is growing debate over the Saskatchewan government's decision to replace the iconic wheat sheaf on the province's website, news releases and letterhead.
A new logo featuring two golden lines swooshing over a green provincial background appeared suddenly Thursday.

Comments on radio shows and websites have been divided on the change.
New Democrat Buckley Belanger says the sneaky replacement of the heritage symbol isn't what Saskatchewan people asked for.
The old wheat sheaf emblem is protected by law and there was a public outcry when the Saskatchewan Party government tried to ditch it in 2007.
The government says the wheat sheaf will continue to be used on signage and the official pin.
