If the band has nothing to hide, let the journalists back into the community; discuss the issues about running a Native community; discuss how money is being distributed, housing & cultural issues.

It is disingenuous to say one has nothing to hide & then to ban all media & call the scathing audit a "distraction".

Not that the band's council is the entire problem but it is certainly a big part of it. It seems if one wants to be perceived as open & fair, one needs to act open & fair.

On one hand Chief Spence wants attention for what she wants to talk about but on the other, wants to avoid any talk of audits or due diligence or responsiblity.

If she wants to be taken seriously, she needs to open up about everything, not just what suits her. The same goes for the Gov't.
