Prince George Sex Assault: Teen Suspects Charged

Teens Charged In 'Disturbing' Sex Assault

UPDATE - Jan. 14, 2013: A seventh person has been charged in the attack on one of the male victims, said Prince George RCMP. The 14-year-old male suspect is charged with aggravated sexual assault, aggravated assault and unlawful confinement.

Five teens are among a group charged in what Prince George RCMP called a "horrific" and "disturbing" assault of two male teens.

Prince George RCMP found a teenage boy lying unconscious in a snowbank behind an apartment building on Monday after he had been sexually assaulted.

Police later determined that two teens were lured to the building and assaulted by a group of teenagers and young adults.

On Friday, RCMP announced charges against Hayden Lee Alwood, 18, Mercedes Rae Jewett, 20, three teenage boys aged 15, 17, and 17 and a 15-year-old teenage girl. The minors cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

All have been charged with aggravated sexual assault, aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm and two counts each of unlawful confinement.

RCMP in the northern B.C. city say the case is one of the worst they've seen involving youth.
