Mounties, Calgary police, arrest pair after surrounding pub in Airdrie

AIRDRIE, Alta. - RCMP and Calgary police have arrested two suspects wanted in a string of robberies.

Police say the men were arrested without incident after police surrounded a pub in Airdrie, north of the city, on Saturday afternoon.

Police say that the incident began just before 9 a.m., when officers tried to pull over a truck in Calgary.

The truck, with two men inside, took off and later parked at the Toad 'n' Turtle pub in Airdrie.

Police believe the suspects are responsible for three robberies, including a dollar store.
