A pair of 22-year-old Ottawa men have been charged in connection with vandalism that included the painting of a swastika at the back of the Canadian War Museum last summer. A surveillance camera caught two men painting a swastika at the back of the museum and defacing a Royal Canadian Air Force plane on Aug. 27, police said in October.

Police released pictures of the men in hopes someone would identify them.

A spokesman for Veterans Affairs Canada had called the vandalism "blatant acts" that were "incredibly disrespectful."

Each man faces one count of mischief under $5,000.

Police thanked members of the public for helping identify the men.
