RED DEER, Alta. - No arrests have been made in the Canada-wide search for a teenager sought in the New Year's Day killing of a central Alberta man.

The Youth Criminal Justice Act prohibits the naming of a youth suspect.

But RCMP in Red Deer had successfully applied for a court order temporarily permitting the identification of the 17-year-old, who is from Manitoba and is wanted on a charge of first-degree murder.

That order now has expired and so he can no longer be identified. RCMP say the teen remains at large.

The body of 25-year-old Lloyd Robert Sarson of no fixed address was found early New Year's Day in a vehicle in a Red Deer back lane.

Police have said the youth may be in British Columbia, but they also weren't ruling out that he may still be in Alberta.
