B.C. gets a stat holiday in February for the first time in 2013, after Premier Christy Clark allowed public online voting to help determine its exact date.

More than 30,000 people responded resulting in B.C. Family Day being held on the second Monday in February.

So what will you be doing to mark Family Day on Feb. 11, 2013?

Since the province declined to have the holiday on the same day as other provinces like Alberta and Ontario or Presidents' Day in the U.S., the ski hills and shopping malls might be good destinations. Or check out some of the community events planned around B.C.
