Real Wedding Toronto: A Chic DIY Wedding At The Granite Brewery

A Chic DIY Indie Wedding At Toronto's Granite Brewery

Bigger is not always better — as our latest real wedding proves.

From The Bride, Jennifer: "Andrew proposed to me outside the AGO where we first met (at first I thought he was tying his shoe – I was completely caught off guard!). When planning our wedding, we knew we wanted to have an intimate ceremony with family, close friends and lots of personal touches.

I found my wedding dress at The Bride’s Project. I really loved that they were volunteer run and donate their profits to support cancer charities. I lost my grandfather to cancer and it was my way of honouring his memory on my wedding day.

We had the venue decorated with white paper lanterns, white candles and lots of wildflowers. The guest book was a printed album of our engagement photos that our guests left us personal messages in. One of my very talented coworkers made us a tower of pastel cupcakes topped with a small cake, the cake topper was from my parents wedding in 1983.

The weather was beautiful. I married my best friend on August 18 in front of a group of 75 people who care about us. I wouldn’t have changed a thing."
