There seems to be no shortage of people excited about Oprah Winfrey's appearance in Edmonton Monday night except, maybe, Oprah.

The U.S. talk show host, who will be kicking off her western Canada tour in the Alberta capital, tweeted out her displeasure shortly after arriving in the province.

And the source of her discontent, which she hash tagged #bummed? The hotel where she's staying allegedly doesn't carry the Oprah Winfrey Network.

An actor, philanthropist and author, among many other things, Winfrey is best known for her role as host of The Oprah Winfrey Show, which she helmed until 2011. She now runs her own television network, OWN -- the source of her Edmonton distress.

But Winfrey fans were quick to add humour and provide the TV icon with some solace, once they heard of their idol's distress.

STORY CONTINUES AFTER GALLERY..

Winfrey made headlines last week when she interviewed disgraced athlete and cancer crusader Lance Armstrong. In the two-part interview, Armstrong finally came clean on the many years of cheating that led him to win seven Tour De France titles.

But during the current tour, Oprah will have a sit down chat with the CBC's George Stroumboulopoulos at Rexall Place, before doing it all over again at the Saddledome in Calgary on Tuesday and in Vancouver on Thursday.

Former guests and die-hard fans have been coming out of the woodwork during the lead up to the western cities tour.

Edmonton resident Carla Clark, who was once a guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, told Metro those in attendance are in for a treat but warned they will feel a mix of emotions.

“I started crying, and I was never that type,” she said. “When she walks into a room… it takes your breath away,” she told Metro.

Dawn Williams, who was a guest in The Oprah Winfrey Show three years ago, told CBC she is excited to see her idol again.

“After being on The Oprah Winfrey Show, you know there were a lot of amazing changes that happened in my life. So, you know, they say that there is an Oprah effect,” she said.

“It made me realize that I could just be me.”

Meanwhile, more than 200 listings, both selling and looking for Oprah tickets, could be found on Kijiji in the hours leading up to the show. Some of the tickets were going for as much as $350 a piece.
