NHL suspends Flyers' Brayden Schenn for 1 game

The NHL suspended Philadelphia Flyers forward Brayden Schenn one game on Wednesday for charging Devils defenceman Anton Volchenkov the previous night in New Jersey.

The hit took place at 12:37 of the second period but no penalty was called. Schenn left his feet and delivered a hit to Volchenkov's head.

The suspension will cost Schenn $4,702.70, US.
